A Conversation with Satoshi Ohtake
(BS '00, Ruddock)
In the decade since earning his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Wisconsin, Satoshi Ohtake has carved out an impressive career in biotechnology, moving quickly up the ranks of three pharmaceutical companies. In his current role as Senior Director at Pfizer, Ohtake has actively influenced or led the progression of more than ten drug programs, ranging from cancer treatments to vaccines, through various stages of clinical development to trials and distribution.
Ohtake will speak about how he made the jump from academia into industry, how he navigated three distinct corporate cultures (highlighting similarities and differences), and offer his observations into successfully managing complex global pharmaceutical projects. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in direct dialogue.
